  • So I will make My HOLY NAME known in the midst of My people Israel; and I will not let them pollute My HOLY NAME any more: and the heathen shall know that I am YHVH, the Holy One in Israel. Ezekiel 39:7

The above scripture quotations leave no doubt that the Eternal, Almighty Creator has a NAME given to us for use in reference, prayer, and worship. the Eternal Father gave His NAME specifically to Moses when Moses was commanded to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. The NAME " I AM THAT I AM" or 'I WILL BE WHAT I WILL TO BE" is a translation of the Name "YAHWEH." Expressed in literature as the tetragrammaton, the four Hebrew glyphs YHWH or more correctly YHVH, are vocalized as YAHVEH. the Divine, sacred NAME is found over 5,500 times in the Old Testament alone.

Over many years, translators have seen fir to translate out the sacred name from Holy Writ by substituting non-holy titles or names of pagan dieties.

The Holy Name Bible ( Scripture Research Association, publisher) preface pp.V states:

For YHVH they have substituted Baal, the Babylonian deity, and Adonay, the Canaanitish deity of the Phoenicians, both corresponding to the English word "Lord."

The Characteristis appellation of the Most High, Elohim, has been substituted by the Assyrian diety "Gawd", or "God" in English, and is repudiated by Yahweh in Isaiah 65:11 which reads as follows, "But ye are they that forsake Yahweh, that forget My holy mountain, and furnish a table for God, and furnish a drink offering to Meni." Traditionally the people of Scotland and some parts of northern England celebrate their 'Hogmanay', which in Hebrew means the feast of the god Meni, on New Year's Eve with a fellowship drink for good luck.

The Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th Edition:

"GOD"

"The common Teutonic word for a personal object of religious worship. It is, thus, like the Greek 'theos' and Latin 'deus' applied to all those superhuman beings of the heathen mythologies who exercise power over nature and man and are often indentified with some particular sphere of activity; and are also to the visible material objects, whether an image of the supernatural being a tree, pillar, etc. Used as a symbol, an idol. The word 'god' on the conversion of the Teutonic races to Christianity was adopted as the name of the universe, and of the persons of the Trinity..."God' is a word common to all Teutonic languages. In Gothic it is "Guth"; Dutch has the same form as English; Danish and Swedish have "Gud", German "Gott"...It has also been suggested that the word might mena a 'molten image' from the sense of to 'pour.'

Jehovah= A contraction of the consonants of the tetragrammaton and the vowels of Adonai. "Jehovah" is generally held to have been an invention of Pope Leo X confessor, Peter Galatin. (De Arcanis Catholic Veritates 1518, Folio XLIII)

And what is His Son's NAME? (Proverbs 30:4) The Messiah's NAME is YAH HOSHUA or YAHSHUA. He came in His Father's NAME (John 5:43). YAH HOSHUA translates "YAHWEH'S SAVIOR." Prior to the introduction of the letter "J" during the 15th century the name 'JESUS' was spelled 'IESUS' having been latinized from the Greek spelling 'IEZEUS,' which translates to "Zeus's healer." The title "Christ" was not used in reference to the Messiah until the 4th century A.D. "Christ" is anglicized from the Greek word "Christos", meaning annointed, which is thought to have derived from the name of the Hindu diety Krishna.

What is in a NAME? Acts 4:12 states that there is only ONE NAME given for redemption or salvation; and again, Acts 10:43- "To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His NAME whosoever believeth in Him sall receive remission of sins."

The names of prophets and other chosen servants of YHVH recorded in the Old Covenant (Testament) scriptures were not changed in translation. In fact, proper names are almost never translated along with text. For example, the names Daniel, Ezekiel, Joel, retain the phonetic endings associated with Elohim. The names Elijah(yah), Jeremiah(yah), Isaiah(yah) retain their phonetic relation to Yahweh.

Throughout the Old Testament scriptures various Sacred NAME titles are recorded which express attributes of YHVH'S character, as in YHVH-SHALOM ( the Eternal is Peace);YHVH-SHAMMAH ( the Eternal is there); YHVH-ROPHEKHA ( the Eternal thy Healer), etc.
